ABOUT UNION LODGE

In 1796, a group of sixteen Freemasons submitted a petition to the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts, requesting the establishment of a new Freemason Lodge in Dorchester, MA. This led to the creation of Union Lodge (D) AF&AM, which was granted a Charter that allowed them to convene on the second Tuesday of each month. The Charter was signed by the Grand Master at that time, M.W. Paul Revere.

With over 225 years of dedicated brotherhood in Masonry, Union Lodge (D) continues to uphold the values of Fraternalism, Charity, and Community that were its foundation.

Currently, Union Lodge meets at the Westwood Masonic Building in Westwood, MA. The Lodge has a promising future and a unique character within Freemasonry, featuring a youthful officer line that promotes enjoyment while honoring traditional values.

Union Lodge recently merged with another Lodge in our District, Celestial Lodge which was made up of a few historical districts. Celestial Lodge's history came from Eliot Lodge, Constellation Lodge, and Hyde Park Lodge, although these Lodges are no longer active Lodges, their members and history live on under the Historical Union Lodge Name.
